How To DIY Giant Halloween Spider

Spiders are a popular theme for Halloween, so it’s no surprise that many people want to know how to make their own giant spiders. This is a great project for kids and adults and is relatively easy. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 Faux fur fabric
  • 1 16-gauge stem wire
  • 1 6 ft by 1-inch foam tube
  • 1 Zip ties
  • 1 Two 4-inch foam half balls
  • 1 2-Inch foam half ball
  • 1 Two 8-inch half-sphere wire globes
  • 1 16-Inch half-sphere wire globe
  • 1 Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • 1 Awl

Building the Spider Body

  1. Make a head and body for your spiders by hot-gluing a 2-inch foam half-ball to a 4-inch foam half-ball so the sides touch.
  1. Cut a piece of faux fur large enough to cover the foam shape you just made. Wrap the fur around the foam and hot glue it in place.
  1. Working with one leg at a time, use an awl to poke a hole through the fur into the foam. Insert a stem wire into the hole and bend it, so the spider’s leg is positioned the way you want it. Repeat this process for the remaining legs.
  1. To make the abdomen, wrap a 6-foot by 1-inch foam tube with fur and hot glue it in place. Attach the legs to the abdomen by inserting the wires into the foam and hot-gluing them in place.
  1. For the back two legs, insert the wires into the foam at an angle, so they stick out to the side. For the front two legs, insert the wires straight into the abdomen, so they stick out straight.
  • 6. Hot glue a 4-inch foam half-ball to each end of the abdomen for the spider’s back end. To make the cephalothorax, wrap a 16-gauge stem wire with fur and hot glue it in place. Attach the cephalothorax to the abdomen by inserting the wire into the foam and hot-gluing it.
  • 7. To make the eyes, glue two 8-inch half-sphere wire globes to the front of the cephalothorax. For the final touch, glue a 16-inch half-sphere wire globe to the front of the cephalothorax for the spider’s mouth. Your giant spider is now complete! Hang it up or place it somewhere in your home to spook your guests.

How To Make A Giant Spiderweb

Giant spider webs are used to decorate for Halloween and make great props for haunted houses. For example, you could hang them in doorways or windows to create a spooky effect. You could also use them as part of a Halloween display or tableau.

If you’re looking for a fun and festive way to decorate your home for Halloween, then making your own giant spider web is a great option. Plus, it’s relatively easy to do. Here’s what you’ll need:

1. A large piece of white fabric

2. A hot glue gun and glue sticks

3. A black Sharpie marker

4. Scissors

5. A roll of white ribbon

6. A roll of black ribbon

Making the giant spider web

  • First, cut the white fabric into a large circle. Then, the hot glue gun is used to attach the fabric to the ceiling or another surface.
  • Next, use the black Sharpie marker to draw a spider web design on the fabric. Start in the center of the fabric and work your way out.
  • Once the design is complete, use scissors to cut along the lines. Make sure to leave about an inch of space between each cut.
  • Now, it’s time to add the ribbon. Start by gluing the end of a piece of white ribbon to the fabric. Then, weave the ribbon in and out of the earlier cuts.
  • When you reach the end of the white ribbon, glue it in place. Then, start with the black ribbon and repeat the process.
  • Continue adding ribbon until the entire web is covered. Then, hang up your spider web and enjoy your handiwork!
